About Us

Managed by President Lavinia Wohlfarth, Brookland CDC was formed by residents in 1999. Our organization is committed to the historic preservation of our local landmarks, fostering the arts, and community development. We focus on promoting the arts and culture of our area while maintaining our historic resources.

To help us accomplish our mission, we have established several programs. Our primary programs include the History and Historical Preservation Program, Cultural Arts Program, and the 12th Street Revitalization Project. The revitalization of 12th Street is important to the continuing development of Brookland. Not only will its improvement keep pedestrians safe, but also bicycle riders. It will also attract profitable and new business that will help the community grow and thrive into the next century.
