At Brookland CDC, we want to keep you in the know about our upcoming community events. See what is happening in the near future below:

Poetry Reading

Meet us on November 27, 2018, for a poetry reading of works by Donald Davidson. The reading will be held at 3418 9th St NW, Washington, DC, at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served at the reception that is planned immediately after the reading.

Community Center

Brookland Celebration of Lights

Enjoy a night of verse and mingling by attending the 24th Annual Brookland Celebration of Lights on December 16. From 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m., fun trolley tour rides will be available. The trolley tours leave the Menkiti Group Plaza (3401 8th St NE). Additionally, a reception is planned immediately after the celebration, which is courtesy of the great Brookland restaurants and businesses. We can serve 800 guests.

Brookland Day Street Fair

Join us next October for the Brookland Day Street Fair. We are bringing back this fun and popular festival for everyone to enjoy again.

Art Center Events

Our Art Center is host to a variety of events and cultural opportunities for Brookland residents. We display work from local artists and present an annual history exhibit of famous residents at Brooks Mansion.

Community Meetings

Community meetings are held at the Art Center. Historic Neighborhood Art Classes began in 2002 and are led today Lisa Farrell. The Art Center space is free of charge for a variety of community meetings and events.
